Steam DHWS Replacement

AMA are working for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, designing domestic hot and cold water services (DHWS) serving the industial zone. The existing steam system will be replaced. This work includes the provision of new strategically located electric boilers serving unvented domestic hot water calorifiers.

The Powell-Cotton Museum

AMA appointed by the Powell-Cotton Museum to carry out condition survey of existing M&E services. The museum houses natural history dioramas and a wide range of specimens and collections of world-culture objects.

CFD training

AMA have completed Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) training with IES MicroFlo. CFD considers airflow in a microscopic level and can be used to test and optimise design to achieve better performance levels of health and safety, comfort and energy.

St Luke’s Cancer Centre

AMA are working for the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust on the refurbishment of St Luke’s Cancer Centre; the region’s major cancer treatment centre. Construction has recently started on site and is expected to last 18 months.

Milford Xray

AMA are working for Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust to design fully HTM compliant MEP services for new xray department. The new xray department is located within an existing building at Milford Hospital.

Annual award for recycling

Our paper use has reduced over the years as digital copies have replaced hard copy drawings and specifications. We still recyle all the paper and carboard in our office and last year saved an equivalent amount of one tree.

AMA team day out

AMA team had a well deserved day out to the Sussex countryside. We took the train to East Chiltington and walked to the Jolly Sportsman pub for lunch. On the way back we visited one of the largest yew trees in Sussex; the 1200 year old female yew in the churchyard of the 12th century parish church.

St. Richard’s ED completed to RIBA Stage 4 with Stabicad for Revit

We have completed RIBA Stage 4 mechanical and electrical services design 3D Building Information Modelling (BIM) for the Emergency Department refurbishment project at St. Richard’s Hospital in Chichester. This is our first project using Trimble Stabicad M&E plugins for Revit. Stabicad integrates the CIBSE accredited M&E calculations within Revit. Revit enables us to work collaboratively and simultaneously from different locations; the office and remotely from home.

Bexhill Community Diagnostic Centre

AMA are working for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust designing MEP services for a new community diagnostic hub in Bexhill. The project is now on site and includes the conversion of a former car showroom to a near net zero building with state of the art diagnostic equipment. New Community Diagnostic Centres are opening across the country to divert patients away from hospitals to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission and waiting times. Image by HDS Architects.
