Refurbishment of existing operating theatres 6-10 at Guildford Hospital is successfully completed, whilst working adjacent to live developments. AMA provided M&E consultancy services, and designed a temporary extract system to prevent adhesive emissions reaching adjacent live theatre environments.

AMA team are continuing to work remotely through the shutdown. We use Microsoft Teams to carry on with design work and for design and project meetings. So far it’s working well. We have a virtual assistant facility at our office, with co-ordinated incoming calls.

Phase 1 of Guildford Hospital Maternity department project completed and handed over. The project included delivery of Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU). Phases 2 & 3 continue on site with construction of new operating theatre.

AMA appointed by Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust to design and manage the installation of a replacement 1500kva backup generator for Guildford Hospital. The works included an installation of temporary generator, strip out of the existing generator, modifications to existing LV switch panels and new automatic controls; all within limited space. New generators were tested and operational last week.

Our annual recycling award states we have recycled 640kg of paper and cardboard, saving eight trees and 900kg of CO2.

AMA are appointed by East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust to provide M&E design services associated with the phased replacement of the existing central chiller plant at Conquest Hospital, Hastings. The chiller plant, which was installed around 1990, has had a long service life. We have carried out surveys and used laser scanning, so that we can create a Revit model of the existing plant.

We are currently designing strip out of existing M&E redundant services in an existing plantroom and design of new mechanical services control panel. This is our first ‘scanning’ project. We hired a Leica RTC360 laser scanner to scan the existing plantroom, and create a 3D point cloud. From the point cloud we have created a Revit drawing of the plantroom to show required services strip out and modifications.

AMA appointed Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust to design new mechanical and electrical services for new Cardiology and MRI service to be located in the existing Haste Building. We are currently progressing initial design proposals.

AMA appointed by Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust to design new mechanical and electrical services for new radiotherapy system, including dedicated chilled water system for cooling the radiotherapy machine and illuminated feature ceiling to improve patient wellbeing.
